Update on Storm Stambaugh! Puppy Love

this is my 160th post, wahoo GO ME! Go enter my giveaway on previous post!

Saturday we will have had storm for A WHOLE MONTH! wow, lots a lot of sleepless nights i have experienced LOL. Alicia knows what I am talking about, right Brew Mama

this face is hard to resist in the mornings though. I truly love her to death.

She will be 3 months old September 9th.

Last Friday we took her to the vet, the shot she had to get didn't even phase her, she got a fecal test and didn't even try to bite the vet, haha and then later that night took her medicine like a champ, WHOA i have a good puppy, for now anyways. In December she goes in to get spayed and dew claws come off
On the way to the VET

She was only 18lbs, thought she would be heavier so we had to up her food its hard for puppies to gain weight and we will adjust as she gains. she is eating 1 1/2 cup in the am and the same amount at night about 12 hours in between each other. She goes back in 2 weeks and then 3 weeks after that, and the Vet should be able to tell us how big they estimate she will get. She def. sees Lab in her and we asked about saint Bernard and because of her fur, paws and dew claws she thinks that's a good guess. We could do a DNA test to know 100% sure but Who has time or MONEY for that? We love her no matter what she is.
Look at those LONG legs

Such a pretty girl with her ball, she LOVES playing fetch

Storm is very very playful and bites us like crazy, i love playing with her, especially fetch, i have never had a dog that played fetch. She loves water so we got her a couple little pools. She has her moments where she is on puppy crack and we have to hide from her, haha, she goes nuts. I also love walking her. She starts obedience training Monday September 2nd and I am nervous because i feel like she will be the worst puppy in the class and excited that they will WORK.
Bought her a new toy couple weeks ago, and she would rather play with water bottles

she LOVES her blanky!

We have Delaney every other weekend, usually, sometimes more. Well they don't get a long too well. All Storm wants to do is BITE BITE BITE BITE her. Poor Delaney cant walk without her attacking and wanting to play. I think its because Delaney is more on her "level" and then Delaney screams and cries, or hides in her room. I hope classes will help that, we don't want Delaney scared of Storm. I know it will get better. We have had NO ACCIDENTS all week, wahooo lets keep that up. Oh and Obedience classes start Monday, wish us luck.
She was Pre-Washing, HAHAHA.

What makes me most happy about Storm, is that our home feels more complete. Tevis is so happy with her which in turn makes me happy. Yes, he can get low patience with her but only when he is trying to walk and shes in the way, he is VERY AFRAID he is gonna fall because of her. Other then that he truly and deeply LOVES her. Just been nice to see him smile and love on her! Melts my heart. Getting a puppy may be hard a lot of work but Its worth it.

If you follow me on IG, i always post pictures of her and her sleeping positions KILL me!!!! She can never pick a spot and take a nap, she moves around for 15 minutes before she finds a good place and she is always laying on her back, she loves to spread out. We let her sleep with us, we may regret it, ok we probably will. BUT she sleeps SOOO much better with us and i will get my sleep back later on. Bonding with her is more important to us then sleep and this week shes been better on not waking me up every two hours. I thought i would be more annoyed with less sleep but when i open my eyes and see those puppies eyes in my face or feel those paws on my back i sometimes cant help but smile, its a good wake up call :)

Monday was National Dogs Day! Love your fur babies!

Hope you enjoy Catching up about our Baby Girl Storm :) she truly is a joy to have. I may complain and have attitude towards tevis because I am tired, but he lets me take a nap if hes home. LOVE him for that lol. Happy Friday!!!

I am  Linking up with Shannon from Life After I "Dew" for SO WHAT Wednesdays! If you don't follow her, you should!

So What Wednesday

here is what i am saying SO WHAT to...

  • if i have my bedroom 75% painted, i'll do get it finished soon
  • if i take advantage of tevis being home and took a nap, Storm gets me up way too early.
  • if we have food in the house and should save money, i nicely asked the bf to take me to fazolis today.
  • if i spend hours online trying to find curtains, GR so frustrating, cant find what i want
  • if the only way i get to see my niece for a little while long is through face-time, thankful for technology!
  • if i have the color me rad in just a few short weeks and the most i have done is walk. Oh well , its more FUN then anything and I will be doing it with my best friend and having Delaney and Tevis at the finish line waiting on me! All that matters is I AM DOING IT
  • if i know we have company coming and i always wait til the last minute to clean
  • if my walls are still empty, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT MY STYLE IS. :/
  • if i don't have A JOB... i am going to school to get a good job, LEAVE ME ALONE.
  • if i will wait to drive tevis' car because mine doesn't have AC, anyone knows me, I HATE BEING HOT.

I could go ON and ON and ON...i will stop there :) Enjoy your Wednesday!!

Will You marry ME?

If you know me, have kept up on my blog and read previous posts then you know that I got married at the age of 20 years old, separated shortly after our one year anniversary and finally divorced little more after that.

I have been with Tevis for three years. Seems sooo much longer with everything we have been through. He is truly my Best Friend. We are finally on the right path, in our own house, re-doing a lot to make it OURS, got a puppy, we love having Delaney because it makes this house feel like a home. I am so thankful to have Tevis and be where I am at in life.

Our second picture taken together.

I made lots of mistakes and finally at this point in my life I do not regret any of them because they led me here and here is exactly where i need and want to be. I always say, Everything happens for a reason.

So I course had my reservations on marriage at first when i got with Tevis. My first marriage should have been my one and only, but we settled too young and grew apart too fast. I deserved more and so did he.

With Tevis I feel like I have gotten my second chance and found true my soul mate. With Tevis having a near death experience in Feb. 2012 both of our lives got turned upside down and we were back on the road of patience and the waiting game. I am so thankful and blessed he is still with me to this day and i get to fall asleep next to him and wake up next to him daily. Some people says he has change, and some say it is because of me... WELL how about you almost die and lose part of your leg and have your whole world change in an instant and see how you bounce back? My guess is it wont be 100% like your life use to be like.

Even though i want it SOONER...I know Tevis and I are on the path of moving forward and the time is right he will ask, and i was SCREAM YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Knowing he is proud to be with me, loves me, and likes to show me off makes me want to be his wife even more. We've had many talks already and I would LOVE to get married on a cruise with very select few people. That would be my dream come true. If we can't technically get married due to his disability(financially) then we will put rings on our fingers, go on a cruise for our honeymoon.

I worry what Delaney would say if we got married or even if her mommy and her boyfriend got married. Is she ready for that?? is it too soon for Delaney, she still doesn't understand why mommy and daddy aren't together. Guess only time will tell, but i know she loves me :)

How do I know getting married for a second time is right for me??

I really don't know if it is "right" for me, but when you have a love and relationship like Tevis' and I you can't really mess that up.

Does Marriage scare me?

Of course it does, i don't want to get a divorce again. The relationship I have with tevis is so much better and different than with my ex. With my ex, i tried and tried and got tired, so when i was done he was ready to try and I said Bye Bye. I know with my relationship with Tevis, we would fight harder and longer, but also never get to that bad point where we did with both of our marriages.

if any of you are in my situation, how did you know getting married again was the right thing to do. How did you know the person you were with was "the One" again.?

Mouthewatering Monday

I have saved my Monday posts for yummy recipes. If you haven't noticed.
I like to be able to go back and make these :)

One the agenda today for Mouthwatering Mondays is
Healthy Meal (Ex: Gluten Free)

I am gonna find a Diabetic friendly recipe to post, since Tevis is a diabetic i always try to find something yummy that we can enjoy and he does not have to worry about his sugar!

This recipe is a TEVIS recipe for sure. At my parents house, we get Pizza Hut everytime because unlike the greenwood area, up north has TACO pizza!! I think i should make this as a surprise for him VERY SOON.

Deep Dish taco Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup frozen chopped onion
  • (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
  • 1 teaspoon salt-free Mexican seasoning
  • (10-ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust dough ( i will look at whats best for diabetics and most healthy for the crust)
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat sharp Cheddar or part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • Salsa (optional)
  • Reduced-fat sour cream (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425°.
Cook beef and onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until beef is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well, and return beef mixture to pan. Stir in tomatoes and seasoning; cook over medium-high heat 1 minute or until thoroughly heated; set aside.
Unroll pizza crust dough. Press into bottom and halfway up sides of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Spoon beef mixture over pizza crust dough.
Bake at 425° for 12 minutes. Top with cheese, and bake 5 minutes or until cheese melts and edges of crust are browned. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm. Top with salsa and sour cream, if desired.

baby blues

I was in a really bad place on Wednesday. Every once in awhile i go to this dark place and get in a bad funk, i really hate seeing people announce they are pregnant. Yes i am happy for them, but just another reminder of what I wont experience. okay i am lieing, i don't know if i'll ever experience motherhood. I know in previous posts i have explain i have polysyctic ovarian syndrome and so i have my issues and tevis also has his. We need to go get him checked out some more before we give our final answer to having a baby or not.

I don't know how to cope with all this.
I don't know how to prepare myself not to be a mom.

So after lots of talking and getting on the same page we have come to the mutual understanding that if and when tevis gets all checked out if he has to have any kind of procedure or surgery, he does not want to go through all that. I totally understand, he has been through a lot, almost died on me, lost part of his left leg and he honestly cannot feel 100% confident with being able to be the father he needs/wants to be or what i want/need him to be. I totally understand and i know he will be a great dad, he is a great dad to Delaney. Having a baby will be different though, even with having a puppy in the house i take care of her, during the night, etc, etc, because he just simply cant during the night, he cant just roll outta bed and take her out like a normal person.

So after throwing a pity party for myself i have come to the conclusion that, I am put in tevis' life to take care of him and maybe that's why a baby isn't in our game plan. I have my hands full with, tevis, Storm, school, house, myself, and Delaney. I just need to learn how to cope and be OK with not having a baby with him. My life is pretty great, there are families and people out there worse off than we are. I am so thankful for everything i have in my life and everyone i have in my life. I told Tevis i wanted to go to counseling, maybe it would help. So i decided to open up more on here, maybe that will help until i figure out what I need to do to help myself.

I am not always good with my words and no where near a writer but this helps and i love the blogging community. thanks in advance for all the nice encouraging kind words i know a few of you will say. XOXO.

Thanks for reading! Love to all!

5 Tips to Beat the Afternoon Slump

Lunch is over, and you've already had enough caffeine for the day, and now your eyelids are getting heavy. Before you grab that Diet Coke or indulge in a sugary treat from the vending machine, remember there are much healthier ways to beat the afternoon slump. Most of us can't pause for a nap, so try these 5 easy tips to stay motivated and get through the 3 p.m. slump. I get this way everyday and when i was working i was dragging in the afternoons. these are some pretty good tips. ENJOY!
Don't OD on caffeine
How often do you get the triple venti and finish it off before even getting to the office? Instead of guzzling the entire thing at once, try to enjoy smaller servings of caffeine throughout the day. When you quickly drink a large coffee, the caffeine peaks in your bloodstream much sooner than if you spread it out over time.
Take a lunchtime walk
Just as sunshine helps you wake up in the morning, exposure to some natural light later in the day can help blunt an energy dip. Step outside for a short walk around noon, before you start feeling sluggish—the combination of sunlight and heart-pumping exercise can't be beat.Try to fit in a 10-minute walk during your lunch break, or even take a walking meeting. If you can't get outdoors, sitting next to a window and looking out is the next best thing.
Avoid fat, sugar, and grease
All of your favorite things, you say? Well, no longer. Instead, make sure each meal contains a balance of whole grains, monounsaturated fats, and fruits and vegetables. At snacktime, instead of cookies or chips, opt for a banana with a tablespoon of peanut butter for a dose of the energy-boosting minerals potassium and magnesium.
Drink more water
Staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to keep energized and focused. Additionally, thirst is sometimes mistake for hunger as well, so it's very beneficial to drink your 8 glasses. Aim to refill your glass every hour or two.
Get some green in your office
Beating the afternoon slump can be as easy as plopping a plant in the office. Research from Texas A&M discovered that volunteers who kept a vase of vibrant flowers on their desks, along with green plants elsewhere in the office, generated more creative ideas than those in a vegetation-free setting.

What I have Been Up to

Good Morning Everyone,

I have been basically MIA for a few weeks i think. I read your blogs don't worry :) I just have not wanted nor did I care to write a post. I have been in a funk...
I blame it on being a girl, AF came to visit me last week.

I am on a waiting list to get my blog design and I could not be more excited, yup i took the easy lazy way and paid for it. I know Sarah will do a good job and not disappoint.

I am not as involved with my blog as I use to be, but i am not "quitting" it, i have "met" some awesome ladies and will continue to meet awesome people. It is just because I have so much going on and its summer time. When i get free or relaxing time, i take advantage of it be lazy and watch tv :)

School -
It takes up a lot of time, i have to force myself to not log on to Facebook or my blog, or get on my phone and just focus on school work for a few hours, I am setting a goal to get things done before Friday so i can enjoy my weekends. My insurance class right now sucks, and i am not doing very well so i am very stressed and have my moments where I want to quit. I take online classes so it is harder sometimes, but i know i can do this. I have great support and will be a college graduate in no time. I get a week break in September and cannot wait!

House-
As most know, we moved into our house June 9th and a little over 2 months into living here we have done A LOT of work to the house,
painted delaneys
painted delaneys bathroom
painted rest of house, hallways, living room, dining room, kitchen (BYE BYE white walls) :)
tore up all vinyl flooring and put laminate down(wood looking)
Stained both decks and fence ( 95% done )
new gate door( still needs done )
new back door ( just needs painted )
Roof over deck ( next project, either before winter or next spring )
Paint our bedroom, mount tv ( will happen within the next week ) Pictures soon
all flower beds weeded and new flowers & plants planted, mulch taken out and rock put in.

I think that's all we have done, need to do or want to do. That is a lot for 2 months in, and it is a changed house! It is HOME-y, it is OURs, that's all the matters :) We didn't expect to do all this, this summer, but WHY NOT we have had awesome friends help get stuff done. its almost done and we can breathe, relax and enjoy the house more and start saving money back for other things, like i need a new vehicle.

Friends/Family-
Besides when we FIRST moved in, we had our first weekend of friends stay with us, Steve Mandy and their daughter from Ohio came to stay the weekend last weekend, and we had a big cookout with lots of food. Steve and Mandy surprised us with a deep freezer and we could not be more thankful.
I love having company over and we do have that often : )
My mom and dad are finally coming to see our house end of this month I could not be more excited about it. And hopefully labor day weekend I will get to see my niece, fingers crossed.

PUPPY-
We have had Storm for little over two weeks now, she is going like a weed and is so playful. I run on 0 sleep most days, some days are better than others. We started out letting her sleep with us but then i was so tired of getting up every two hours with her i wasnt getting enough sleep and she wanted to get up and play REALLY early. We started crating her at night, she knew it was bedtime and always went to sleep great but 5-6am and on she would cry cry cry.... so there again no sleep. Well she got sick last weekend and we let her sleep with us because we were worried she slept ALL night. She sleeps so much better with us, so we just caved and she sleeps with us. Shes only jumped off bed once. But i am just exhausted most days because i don't sleep like i use to, lol. I loVE MY SLEEP. I know it will get easier and she will sleep through the night soon enough. i have to take her out two times before we get up for the day, not terrible at all. We overall have had a great first two weeks with her, she is loved soo much. I am anxious to watch her grow, just miss my sleep because Tevis cant get up with her. I knew in the beginning she would be more my responsibility. I love her and when she gives me kisses i forget about how baggy my eyes are lol.
love that face!

my baby girl and I

Look at those big paws

her sleeping positions kill me. haha

 Delaney-
Little update on Delaney, she started school july 31st(they do the extended school year around here) and has been doing great, she loves school. She now gets to ride the big buss home and thinks that is just awesome. 2 weeks ago, we surprised her with a puppy and an iPad Mini. The iPad mini was promised to her if she had good behavior, she was suppose to get it for her birthday this past march and her behavior just didn't justify us getting it for her, so she had a great summer and we found a refurbished ipad mini for a great price and could not pass it up. It is her ipad so she can bring it back and forth between our house and her mothers. Over all Delaney is doing great. :) I hate it when she isn't with us because the house feels empty. She is gonna freak at how big Storm is already, haha. She gets to go to Disney in October, so lucky!

Okay, i think that's enough to tell ya for one day.
Dont forget i am having a catalog origami owl party, doesn't matter if your in another state i am getting a great shipping discount! Please let me know if your interested.

Mouthwatering Monday!

Mouthwatering Mondays

The schedule for the coming weeks:
  • Aug 12:  Favorite Side-dish
  • Aug 19: Breakfast Food for Dinner
  • Aug 26: Healthy Meal (Ex: Gluten Free)

I love biscuits and gravy and also looking for new things to cook and surprise Tevis with. I never cooked a lot for tevis so its hard to find out what he likes that I cook, i seen this recipe, and I WANT TO MAKE IT. I think he would love it.

Breakfast food for dinner!

Biscuits, Sausage & Gravy Casserole, serves 4 (2 biscuits per person)
Inspired by Pillsbury
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage, casing removed
  • 7 oz can of green chilies, mild
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 24 oz bag frozen potatoes (diced/cubed/hashbrowns — whatever you like!)
  • 10 oz can of diced tomatoes with chilies (I used Rotel)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 package of dry gravy mix
  • 1 can of jumbo biscuits, 8 biscuits (Pillsbury Grands are great!)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese
Directions:
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a hot skillet, add sausage and chilies. Cook until the sausage is no longer pink.
  3. In a separate skillet, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, potatoes and canned tomatoes. Cook about 8 – 10 minutes. The potatoes don’t need to be browned, just done enough to hold their shape. Season with salt & pepper.
  4. Prepare the gravy — follow the directions on the packet.
  5. Grease a casserole dish and add 1/2 of the potato mixture. Place biscuits on top and add the rest of the potatoes, sausage and gravy. Top with a little cheese. Bake for 30 minutes. Let the casserole sit a few minutes before digging in.

10 Ways to Spread Kindness Today

Hello loves! Miss me? I miss myself and the blogging community too.

Sometimes it's the little things in life that can make or break someone's day. Have you ever been having a rough time, only to have some stranger smile or say hi outta the blue and your day just turned a 360? We all need more people like in in our lives and we need to be one of those people. It is the little things we can do to make someones day without even knowing it! PAY IT FORWARD!

Make KARMA your best friend you wont regret it!

1. Write someone a kind note. Leave a note for the evening janitor, your roommate, or even a friend or family member who's been helpful to you lately or could use some kindness in their life. Tell them how much your appreciate them and make sure to be specific. It will likely change their whole day (or week) around.
2. Go out of your way to do something nice. Hold the door for someone who is coming far behind you or offer to take care of your friend's kid while they go do something for themselves. Doing something completely selfless like this will make both parties feel good.
3. Listen.Really listen to someone. Look them in the eyes, ask follow-up questions and truly try and understand their problems. You'd be surprised how rare that is.
4. Volunteer.Take some time to volunteer for a local organization. Choose something you like to do -- if you like working with children, check out a local boys and girls club, if you like to cook, go to the local soup kitchen, etc -- and spread even more kindness while you're there. Organizations always need help and it will be good for your soul.
5. Help out your parents. As our parents age, they need more and more help from us. Offer to help Mom or Dad learn some new tricks on the iPhone, clean out the garage or choose what to get rid of and what to keep in the house. They'll love spending time with you and will appreciate the gesture more than you realize.
6. Pay for the person behind you's cup of coffee. Make someone's day and ask the cashier if you can pay for the person's coffee behind you. The surprise will make their day.
7. Give up your seat on the bus/train.Offer your seat to someone else on the train or bus that probably needs it more than you. Even if they don't take you up on it, they'll appreciate the offer.
8. Tell your boss how great someone else is doing. Get some time with your boss or supervisor and let them know how well your coworker is doing at their job. It can help your boss realizes what's going on deeper within the company and it can certainly help your coworker if he hears the compliments through the grapevine.
9. Leave a positive review.Do you just love your local coffee shop? Let them know it (and help their PR) by leaving a review on Yelp or another local review site. Especially if it's a small business, this can make a big difference.
10. Smile. At everyone. Smiles are infectious and if you kindly smile at others, it may lift their spirits.

Meet Taylin Nicole Snyder

Hi everyone!

I am very excited to announce that my cute baby niece arrived Tuesday evening!

Haley stayed at 2cm dilated for two week prior so her doctor decided to bring her in this past Monday at 5:30pm to start the process of inducing her,  during the night they gave her medicine 3 different times to soften her cervix and then they were gonna give her pitocin Tuesday morning. My plan was to leave Tuesday morning and stay 2 nights, WELL i was not thinking. Tevis cant take care of Storm during the night, he cant keep his prosthetic leg on for 48 hours. So i was not at the hospital when she was born, I waited and left early wed. morning and came home sorta late wed. night.  WE plan on going to visit soon so i am ok, plus i can facetime my mom and see her pretty little face!

Haley started pushing around 2-230ish tuesday afternoon and FINALLY at 5:14pm i had a niece!

Taylin Nicole Snyder
8lbs 11oz 21in. (no wonder it took her 3 hours to push, big healthy baby)

Haley had a pretty rough labor, taylin wasn't positioned just right and they tried every position possible for her, i felt so bad for her. My mom got to be in the room with her, I was so happy my mom got to experience seeing her first grand baby born! I may never get to give my mom that gift so I am thankful she got to do this with Haley and tj. Now i will share some pictures who everyone can see how happy this girl has made us already!

25 Ways To Have a Spa Day At Home

I'd say about once a month we all need a little TLC. Blow outs are relaxing, a massage is to-die-for, and your nails could really use a manicure but our wallet doesn't always agree. When that's the case we turn to pampering ourselves in the comfort of our own home.

Here's 25 ways that you can relax and unwind without even stepping outside!
1. Eat right
2. Light candles
3. Treat yourself
4. Play music
5. Take a bath

6. Sit in a massage chair (Or invest in a hand-held back massager)
7. Drink tea
8. Wear a robe
9. Place cucumbers on your eyes while you...
10. Take a nap
11. Have a smoothie
12. Place your lotion bottle on a vent so it's nice and warm when you need it
13. Deep condition your hair
14. Use a sugar scrub on your legs
15. At-home mani
